The Bozanians. A Novel by Gani Simpliciano (Based on the characters of Chōdenji Machine Voltes V by Saburo Yatsude)

Chapter One: John

John sits in his dark laboratory brooding. the computer lights his desk dimly. cigarette smoke, boxes of chinese food, piles of paper; all cluttered as like john's mind reminiscing of what could have been. it wasn't necessarily his experiment of studying leidenfrost's phenomena. it was just that moment of reflection, where is he in in this place in life.
its has been a turbulent year since the unified nations government declared its wistful thinking making Bozania an earth colony.
john stares at the news on the television screen beside his monitor. the newscaster reports of massive riots from liberal parties in rallies protesting the U.N.
Southeast Asia has always seen its share of dead-end activism.
Yet it all seems uttered baby-jabber to john. it wasn't his doctorate thesis that led to his cold foresight of what the world will be. but merely on his experience as a prodigal teenager, piloting a frigate that assembles with other combat ships transforming into a giant robot... saving the world.
Dr. John Armstrong smirks thinking his heyday. perhaps out of boredom, or out of insight, or out of regression... whatever. long gone are the days to save the world. these are the days that the irony sets in the world needing to save itself from itself.
john stands up and walks across the room. he glances outside the window. the news reel tells the weather forecast. john recognizes its been a while since he heard the word "sunny" or "cloudy". he thinks too much to acknowledge any more of the little things. even to call his brothers to say hello.
"they're both always busy", john quips to his android friend moving next to him.
"Pardon Dr. Armstrong?" the android replies.
"Nevermind Octo-1000..." John demystifies himself. " How is the test doing?, did the vapor insulate in it's approximate time?"
"Negative, Doctor. Roughly .0057 off the mark"
"Thank you, please continue with the proceeding tests using molten lead".
"Affirmative, Dr.Armstrong."

John cups his chin contemplating his math. he pauses yet again. his rapid thoughts flash far too much emotions to calculate anything.
he ponders and sits back his chair. He couldnt get it off his head, what he read on his email this morning. The Earth defense force has stopped funding the Voltes Five Project.
John sighs to his disappointment, he has to call somebody soon.
